Getting Ready for Africa Tech Festival 2026? Here’s How to Make Your Presence Count
Every November, Cape Town becomes a meeting point for the people shaping Africa’s digital future. Operators, technology companies, policymakers, investors and innovators come together at Africa Tech Festival to discuss the developments changing the continent’s connectivity landscape and the opportunities that lie ahead.
For TechAfrica News, it is a familiar gathering, and one we look forward to returning to each year.
From 17 to 19 November 2026, we will be back at the Cape Town International Convention Centre as an official media partner, bringing the conversations, announcements and perspectives from the festival to our readers across Africa and beyond.
Our work at the festival goes beyond reporting what happens on stage. We meet the people behind the developments, hear directly from the companies building new solutions, and explore the ideas and partnerships that will influence the direction of Africa’s technology sector. Whether a conversation takes place during a keynote, at an exhibition stand or between sessions, we want to bring the people and thinking behind the industry into focus.
A festival with a long history and a forward-looking agenda
Now in its 29th edition, Africa Tech Festival, formerly known through its flagship event AfricaCom, has established itself as one of the continent’s leading gatherings for the telecommunications and technology industries.
The festival brings together different parts of the digital ecosystem, from mobile and fixed connectivity to data centres, cloud services, satellite communications, broadcasting, fintech and emerging technologies. It offers a place to exchange ideas, examine industry challenges and build relationships that can extend well beyond the event itself.
For companies working across these sectors, it is also an opportunity to share what they are building, explain where the market is heading and connect with the people who can help turn new ideas into practical outcomes.
That is where TechAfrica News comes in.
Bringing the conversations in Cape Town to a wider audience
Our relationship with Africa Tech Festival has developed over several years of on-the-ground reporting, executive interviews, panel moderation and industry engagement. We have covered the event from its main stages to its exhibition stands, speaking with the people whose work is shaping Africa’s digital economy.
At AfricaCom 2024 alone, our team recorded more than 20 interviews with executives and policymakers. Our coverage has also included pre-event editorial features, daily updates and post-show reporting, giving our audience different ways to follow the event before, during and after it takes place.
This experience informs how we approach the festival. We understand the sectors represented, the conversations taking place and the questions that matter to our readers. It allows us to look beyond the announcements and explore what developments mean for operators, service providers, technology partners and the wider African market.
One event, with a story that continues before and after the show
Africa Tech Festival lasts three days, but the conversations that begin in Cape Town can continue for months. Our coverage is designed around that longer timeline, giving companies several opportunities to share their work and reach the people who matter to them.
Across our website, social media and newsletter channels, TechAfrica News reaches an audience of 2.8 million, with more than 1.5 million video views across platforms and 4 million LinkedIn impressions. Our community also includes 39,000 newsletter subscribers and 35,000 LinkedIn followers. With 71% of our readers based in Africa, 32% in C-level positions and 38% working in telecommunications, broadcasting, satellite communications and service provision, our coverage connects companies with professionals who understand the industry and help shape its direction.
Before the festival: Building awareness and starting conversations
In the weeks leading up to the event, TechAfrica News publishes editorial previews exploring the main themes, industry developments and sessions to watch. These features help our readers understand what to expect and give companies an opportunity to introduce the work they will be bringing to Cape Town.
Through our Exhibitor Spotlights, companies can also present their business on the Africa Tech Festival landing page, with a company profile, website links and stand information. The spotlights are included in our pre-event mailers, while dedicated LinkedIn posts provide another way to introduce exhibitors to our professional audience.
The aim is simple: to help people discover your company before they arrive at the exhibition floor.
During the festival: Putting your work and your people in the conversation
Once the event begins, our editorial team reports from the ground, publishing news, interviews and daily updates across the TechAfrica News website and LinkedIn.
Companies can take part through short video interviews, typically lasting five to eight minutes. Planned in advance and filmed on site, each interview gives executives an opportunity to explain their latest developments, share their perspective on the market and discuss the challenges or opportunities their business is addressing. Our team handles the filming, supporting footage and editing.
For those who prefer a written format, interviews can also be arranged by email, teleconference or in person.
Each interview becomes part of a wider distribution effort, with promotion through LinkedIn, our newsletters and mailers, a dedicated YouTube playlist and the TechAfrica News website. This gives the conversation several points of entry for readers and viewers, rather than limiting it to the time spent at the stand.
After the festival: Keeping the conversation going
When the exhibition closes, there is still plenty to discuss. The announcements made, partnerships formed and challenges raised during the festival deserve a closer look.
Our post-show report brings together the main developments and voices from the event, helping readers make sense of the conversations that shaped the week. Partners can be included through a dedicated write-up in the report, an Exhibitor Spotlight and a further LinkedIn post.
Video and written interviews remain available online after the festival, providing a lasting reference that companies can share with customers, partners and colleagues long after everyone has left Cape Town.
For businesses, this creates a continuous editorial presence around the event, from the first introduction to the conversations that follow.
A look back at our Africa Tech Festival coverage
Our previous coverage offers a sense of the conversations we have brought to our audience and the role the festival plays in Africa’s digital development.
Be part of the story in Cape Town
Africa Tech Festival brings together companies with different experiences, ambitions and perspectives on the future of technology in Africa. We want to make space for those voices and help their stories reach beyond the exhibition floor.
For TechAfrica News, returning as official media partner is an opportunity to continue those conversations, meet the people driving change across the industry and share the developments that matter to our audience.
“Africa Tech Festival brings together many of the people shaping the continent’s digital future. Our role is to bring their ideas, work and perspectives to a wider audience, including those who cannot be in Cape Town. We look forward to meeting the industry again this November and sharing the stories that emerge from the festival.”
