Luno Pay Expands Crypto Payment Options Across South Africa’s Retailers

Luno Pay allows South African customers to pay for groceries, meals, and services using cryptocurrency at 31,000+ retail locations.

With Luno Pay, customers in South Africa can use their cryptocurrency wallets to make everyday purchases at a wide range of retailers. Shoppers can now pay for groceries at Pick n Pay by requesting the Contactless QR payment option or scan the Zapper QR code at any supported merchant. Additionally, Luno Pay is available at online merchants that support Stitch’s ‘Pay with Crypto’ option.

To make a payment, customers can use the Luno app to scan the QR code at checkout, select the crypto wallet they wish to use, and confirm the transaction by entering their Luno PIN. Most of the cryptocurrencies available on Luno can be used, depending on wallet balances and market conditions.

This feature opens access to over 31,000 merchants throughout South Africa, allowing customers to buy groceries, pay for meals at restaurants like KFC and Steers, or even settle parking fees at shopping centers using their cryptocurrency.
