M-KOPA has appointed Rajeev Suri as the new Chair of its Board, effective December 1, 2024. The announcement was made via the company’s LinkedIn platform. M-KOPA expressed confidence in Suri’s vast experience and leadership capabilities, which he brings from his previous roles in the global technology and telecommunications sectors.

Rajeev Suri, who has held prominent leadership positions as CEO of Nokia and Inmarsat, and currently serves as Chair of Digicel Group as well as a Board Director at Singtel and Viasat, is expected to play a pivotal role in guiding M-KOPA’s strategic growth. His expertise will be critical as the company continues to scale its reach and impact across emerging markets.

Under her leadership, the board steered the company’s operations through significant growth milestones. Littlefield will continue to serve M-KOPA as an independent director and will chair the ESG and Impact Committee.

As M-KOPA positions itself for further expansion, the company is confident that Suri’s leadership will support its mission of financing progress for millions of micro-entrepreneurs and everyday earners across Africa and other emerging markets.
