Ethio Telecom and Ethiopia’s Ministry of Industry unveil a transformative e-commerce platform to modernize manufacturing, enhance supply chains, and drive digital and economic growth nationwide.

Ethio Telecom, in collaboration with the Ministry of Industry, held a discussion with the representatives of the manufacturing industry and stakeholders regarding the e-commerce digital marketing platform they developed in partnership to modernize the manufacturing sector.

The Honorable Minister of Industry, Ato Melaku Alebel, stated that the platform is a game changer for the manufacturing industry, as it will make the market more accessible to a wider audience, strengthen connections with input suppliers, and streamline product production, ultimately improving supply chain reliability and enabling more informed decision-making.

He added that the modernization of the sector is crucial for the digital transformation of our country, which will enhance the benefits for citizens by building an inclusive digital economy and boost international competitiveness.

The CEO of Ethio telecom, Firehiwot Tamiru, emphasized that the digital transformation of Ethiopia requires joint efforts and stated that our company has developed the infrastructure capacity to implement the digital marketing platform that is part of it.

Ethio Telecom’s CEO added that apart from equipping the sector with technology, it is possible to quickly transform our country from a consumer to a producer by improving skills, improving policies and guidelines, and creating a favorable environment.

And finally the representatives of the manufacturing industry expressed their firm belief that the platform will play a significant role in revitalizing the sector by improving the competitiveness of domestic industry products and gradually replacing imported products.
