DCDT Proposes New SABC Funding Strategy

South Africa's DCDT plans to replace TV licenses with a sustainable funding model, aligning with the upcoming SABC Bill reforms.

Multiple reports have confirmed that the Department of Communications and Digital Technologies (DCDT) in South Africa has announced plans to replace traditional TV licenses with a new funding model.

According to the reports, the Communications Minister Solly Malatsi revealed the initiative, emphasizing the need for a sustainable approach to support the South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC).
