SuperSport and SABC Partner to Broadcast School Sports Nationwide

The Ministry of Sport, Arts and Culture welcomes the significant partnership between SuperSport and the South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC) to expand access to school and youth sport for millions of South Africans.

This collaboration marks the launch of the SuperSport Schools channel on SABC Plus, the public broadcaster’s streaming platform. This milestone will greatly enhance the visibility of school and youth sport, with a strong focus on athletics. It will serve as a vital platform for identifying and nurturing future stars as South Africa strives for greater success at the 2028 Olympic Games.

Through this initiative, South Africans will have increased access to top-quality school and youth sport, complementing the existing SuperSport Schools streaming platform, which already boasts more than one million registered users. This partnership highlights a shared commitment between SuperSport and the SABC to youth development and community upliftment, ensuring that young athletes receive the recognition and opportunities they deserve.

I commend both SuperSport and the SABC for their collaborative efforts in delivering high-quality schools and youth sports content. This partnership demonstrates the power of collaboration in unlocking talent, inspiring young athletes and building a stronger sporting future for the country. In our long-term plan to take more than three hundred (300) athletes to the next Olympics, it all starts at school. So, we need to let the youth take centre stage.
