Parliamentary Committee Puts SABC Bill Briefing on Ice for Now
The SABC Bill briefing is postponed as top government leaders engage in talks to resolve key legislative disputes.

The Chairperson of the Portfolio Committee on Communication and Digital Technologies, Ms Khusela Sangoni Diko, has postponed until further notice the briefing that was to be given by the Department of Communications and Digital Technologies (DCDT) on the SABC Bill public hearing submissions. The item was scheduled for Wednesday, 12 February 2025.
Ms Diko said that the agenda item is postponed at the request of Minister Solly Malatsi to allow engagement between the Leader of Government Business, Deputy President Paul Mashatile; the Speaker of the National Assembly, Ms Thoko Didiza; and Minister Malatsi to find a resolution to the current impasse on the SABC Bill.
However, the committee will continue with the meeting to consider and adopt the SITA oversight report.
