Paratus Namibia has advised its stakeholders that it detected unauthorised activity on its internal IT systems and that it is currently managing a cybersecurity incident.
The incident has disrupted certain information systems that, in turn, has affected the Company’s operations. Our internal incident response team, in consultation with independent international legal, forensic and cybersecurity advisors, has been investigating the incident to determine the scope of the security compromise, and restore the Company’s information systems. This combined team has been working around the clock to bring the affected systems back online, on a risk-managed basis in line with best practice.
The Company takes the confidentiality, privacy, and security of the information it holds very seriously and has taken the necessary steps to report the incident to the relevant regulatory authorities. Investigations into the incident are ongoing and we remain committed to promptly notify all relevant stakeholders as and when material developments arise in line with our applicable legal obligations.
