ZTE and Red Hat deepen collaboration with a new MoU to drive AI-powered, cloud-native 5G core network innovation and modernization.

ZTE Corporation, a global leading provider of integrated information and communication technology solutions, has taken a significant step in its long-standing collaboration with Red Hat, the world’s leading provider of open source solutions, by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at MWC Barcelona 2025 to further advance research and development through the ZTE and Red Hat Joint Innovation Lab, reinforcing their shared vision for driving 5G core network innovation.

In the opening remarks, ZTE’s Senior Vice President Zhang Wanchun emphasized the importance of collaboration in achieving innovation in the rapidly evolving telecom industry. The MoU was then signed by ZTE and Red Hat leadership. Both companies expressed their enthusiasm about continuing their collaboration to foster groundbreaking advancements in telecom technologies.

Through this expanded collaboration, ZTE and Red Hat will integrate their respective expertise. ZTE’s deep experience in carrier-grade infrastructure, NFV, and 5G core solutions will be combined with Red Hat’s leadership in open source, AI and cloud-native solutions to deliver open, decoupled, and security-optimized solutions that cater to both service providers and enterprise customers. This collaboration will support greater network agility, optimized resource utilization, and enhanced reliability using AI and cloud-native technologies.

The signing of the MoU marks a milestone in the ongoing collaboration between the two companies, helping service providersadopt AI-powered automation and cloud-native architectures to modernize their networks. By deepening this collaboration, ZTE and Red Hat are paving the way for more intelligent, scalable, and resilient network infrastructures, supporting the industry’s transition toward a fully digital and AI-driven future.
