Airtel Malawi Plc  has proudly announced the launch of Africa’s first Artificial Intelligence (AI)-powered Spam Alert Service, a pioneering innovation designed to protect its customers from fraudulent activities and enhance digital security across the nation.

The cutting-edge service, which provides real-time alerts for suspected spam SMS messages, was officially unveiled on July 3rd. The launch event was graced by Airtel Malawi’s Managing Director, Aashish Dutt, alongside the Minister of Information & Digitalisation, Moses Kunkuyu, and MACRA Director General, Daud Suleman, highlighting the collaborative effort to combat digital threats.

This unprecedented innovation is set to benefit all Airtel Malawi subscribers, offering protection on both smartphones and feature phones, ensuring broad accessibility and comprehensive coverage against spam and scam attempts.

During the launch, Managing Director Aashish Dutt emphasized the company’s commitment to customer safety and trust, stating:
