Morocco Begins 5G Licensing Process to Advance National Digital Strategy
This process aims to equip the Kingdom of Morocco with the latest mobile communications technologies in order to support its economic and social development.
In accordance with the regulations in force¹ and as part of the implementation of the Maroc Digital 2030 strategy and the general orientations of the sector, a call for competition is launched for the award of licenses for the establishment and operation of telecommunications networks using 5th generation mobile technologies (5G).
This process aims to equip the Kingdom of Morocco with the latest mobile communications technologies in order to support its economic and social development.
5G is characterized by high transmission speeds, low latency suitable for real-time needs, and the ability to meet specific demands in sectors such as industry, transport, healthcare, and agriculture.
The call for competition dossier defines the regulatory provisions and the technical and financial conditions under which each 5G network will be established. It also specifies the terms of commercial service provision, the coverage and quality of service obligations of each license holder, as well as the procedures governing the progress of the process and the evaluation of bids, which will be the subject of a public report.

Once the winners of the call for competition are designated, the Terms of Reference will be adopted by decree and published in the Official Bulletin.
