Cellulant Offers Online Payment Platform to SMEs and large businesses
Launched in 2019, Tingg offers the users to efficiently pay for services and products through a mobile app. With Cellulant working with Tingg, their combined capabilities will cater to a larger space of SMEs and businesses.
Mobile money adoption has increased rapidly over recent years, especially in markets where most of the population remains unbanked. According to Statista, in 2020, 10% of digital payments in Nigeria were transacted through e-wallets. In addition, NIBBSS recorded that Nigerian merchants and mobile money operators processed over 655 million Point-of-Sale (POS) transactions valued at ₦4.7 trillion ($13 billion) in 2020. This presents a 50% increase from the previous year.
With the increasing adoption of digital payments, Tingg only means to boost SMEs and other businesses by offering a single online payment user experience currently in Nigeria, Kenya, Ghana, Uganda, Tanzania, Mozambique, Zambia and Botswana.
“Currently, Africa moves more money on mobile phones than any other economy in the world and has a growing interest in digital financial solutions. Our team believes that this gives our region the unique opportunity to lead the way in developing robust financial platforms that can be customized to the needs in each country or locality while infusing cutting-edge technologies such as Blockchain, Artificial Intelligence, and Augmented Reality.”
