Nigeria Becomes First African Country to Launch Africa-BB-Maps Broadband Initiative

This initiative is expected to play a crucial role in Nigeria's efforts to expand internet access and improve connectivity.

The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC)  has launched the Africa-BB-Maps National Event in Abuja, making Nigeria the first of 11 African countries to begin work on this new initiative led by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) .

The two-day event, which began yesterday, brought together key players from the government, industry, and development partners. The first day’s discussions focused on collaborative strategies for mapping and planning broadband infrastructure to advance digital inclusion across the country. This initiative is expected to play a crucial role in Nigeria’s efforts to expand internet access and improve connectivity.
