A+ Computer Training Technology Limited (A+ CTT) has officially launched EduBot Nigeria, an AI-powered educational chatbot designed to transform grassroots learning by delivering lessons in Nigerian indigenous languages. The launch event, held at the company’s MSME Hub at Hill Station Roundabout in Jos, brought together officials from the Federal and Plateau State Ministries of Education, technology stakeholders, community leaders, and media representatives.
EduBot Nigeria was developed by A+ CTT in partnership with Triangle Development Advisory (USA) to bridge Nigeria’s digital skills gap and improve access to quality education in underserved communities. The platform, accredited by the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE), is designed to work offline, making it accessible even in rural areas with limited or no internet connectivity. It targets women, youth, and out-of-school children, combining artificial intelligence with local-language learning to enhance educational outcomes.
The chatbot integrates the official syllabuses of the Federal Ministry of Education into Nigeria’s three major languages—Hausa, Yoruba, and Igbo—as well as five structured Plateau State languages: Birom, Ngas, Mwaghavul, Tarok, and Gmai. Local language custodians are directly involved in translating and validating educational content, ensuring cultural relevance and accuracy.
Founder and CEO Chief Kope Sylvanos Joseph explained that EduBot was inspired by the need to make complex subjects like physics and chemistry more accessible by teaching them in native languages. He noted that countries such as China and India have achieved higher literacy and industrial growth by prioritizing mother-tongue education. Registrar Professor Buba Audu confirmed that the chatbot is ready for deployment following successful prototyping and called on the government and private sector to partner in scaling the innovation nationwide.
The project aligns with Sustainable Development Goal 4 (Quality Education) and Nigeria’s National Digital Economy Policy, promoting digital inclusion and preserving indigenous languages. A+ CTT plans to gradually expand EduBot’s language coverage to all 774 local government areas in Nigeria, ensuring that more communities can benefit from AI-powered, culturally relevant education.
