This collaboration is seen as a significant milestone in Nigeria’s digital resilience agenda, combining international expertise with local commitment to safeguard the nation’s digital future.

The National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA)  has entered into a strategic partnership with Kaspersky  Global to bolster Nigeria’s cybersecurity landscape. The agreement was sealed during GITEX Nigeria 2025 in Lagos, with NITDA’s Director General, Kashifu Inuwa Abdullahi, and Kaspersky’s General Manager for Africa, Chris Norton, formalising the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).

Under the partnership, Kaspersky will support NITDA in strengthening cyber capacity across the country. This includes training programmes to build local expertise, joint public awareness campaigns such as the Cybersecurity Alphabet initiative, and collaborative research and analysis aimed at improving national cyber defence literacy.

The MoU also provides a framework for intelligence sharing on cyber threats and attacks that may impact Nigerian citizens, government institutions, and critical digital infrastructure. In addition, Kaspersky will offer strategic advisory services to help NITDA establish robust cybersecurity frameworks and standards, aligning with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s priority of reinforcing national security for peace and prosperity.

This collaboration is seen as a significant milestone in Nigeria’s digital resilience agenda, combining international expertise with local commitment to safeguard the nation’s digital future.
