Kenya and AFD Group Partner to Accelerate Digital Transformation Agenda

Cabinet Secretary for Information, Communications and the Digital Economy , Hon. William Kabogo Gitau, has reaffirmed the government’s commitment to accelerating Kenya’s digital transformation through strategic partnerships.
Speaking after a meeting with a high-level delegation from the AFD Group , led by the French Ambassador to Kenya, H.E. Arnaud Suquet, Hon. Kabogo noted that collaboration with international partners is critical in building robust digital infrastructure and delivering inclusive services to citizens.
The discussions reviewed progress on the AFD Group’s support to the Kenya Connectivity and Digital Transformation Project. Through its institutions—AFD, Proparco, and Expertise France—the Group is working closely with the Ministry to implement the Digital Masterplan 2022–2032. The plan focuses on expanding the national aerial fiber network, deploying digital hubs across the country, and developing interoperable e-government services to ensure more accessible public service delivery.
Also present at the meeting were Principal Secretary for ICT and the Digital Economy, Eng. John Tanui, and AFD Kenya Country Director, Anne-Gaël Chapuis.
