The initiative is one of the latest innovations developed by the Fahari Innovation Hub, Kenya Airways’ platform dedicated to driving new solutions through its Open Innovation Challenge.

Kenya Airways  has announced a strategic partnership with RoamBuddy  to introduce KQSafari Data, a new roaming solution designed to give passengers seamless and affordable internet connectivity across the globe.

The partnership was formalized through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Kenya Airways Chief Customer and Commercial Officer, Julius Thairu, and RoamBuddy Chief Executive Officer, Mandeep Birdi. The initiative is one of the latest innovations developed by the Fahari Innovation Hub, Kenya Airways’ platform dedicated to driving new solutions through its Open Innovation Challenge.

With the launch of KQSafari Data, travelers flying with Kenya Airways can now access more than 2,250 roaming plans available in over 180 countries. The offering is tailored to eliminate one of the biggest challenges faced by international passengers: high mobile data costs when traveling abroad.

According to the airline, this innovation reflects its ongoing commitment to enhancing the end-to-end customer journey by addressing pain points that affect travel convenience. Beyond providing affordable and reliable connectivity, the solution is expected to strengthen customer loyalty and reinforce Kenya Airways’ position as Africa’s most customer-centric and innovative airline.

Speaking at the signing, Thairu emphasized that the new service was not only about meeting customer needs but also about anticipating them. Birdi added that the partnership with Kenya Airways showcases how digital solutions can transform the travel experience for global customers.

The launch of KQSafari Data marks a major milestone in Kenya Airways’ digital transformation strategy and highlights the airline’s continued focus on innovation, customer experience, and strategic collaborations in the aviation industry.
