Nigeria Signs MoU with Autodesk to Boost Design and Innovation Ecosystem
The partnership will focus on advancing digital design, Building Information Modelling (BIM), artificial intelligence, and data-driven technologies.

Nigeria has taken a major step toward strengthening its design and innovation ecosystem with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Federal Ministry of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy and Autodesk, a global leader in design and engineering technologies. The agreement signals Autodesk’s formal entry into Nigeria’s rapidly growing community of designers, architects, engineers, and builders.
The partnership will focus on advancing digital design, Building Information Modelling (BIM), artificial intelligence, and data-driven technologies. According to Minister of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy, Dr. ‘Bosun Tijani, the collaboration will be instrumental in building skills across government and industry, promoting global best practices, and modernizing Nigeria’s infrastructure delivery systems.
Key areas of cooperation include developing competencies for professionals, expanding the adoption of BIM in infrastructure projects, and piloting initiatives that leverage AI, cloud computing, and digital design to create smarter public infrastructure. Additionally, the agreement is expected to strengthen capacity building as Nigeria rolls out its National AI Strategy, ensuring that design and engineering innovation plays a central role in the country’s digital transformation.
Dr. Tijani expressed gratitude to Autodesk’s Chief Marketing Officer, Dara Treseder, for her role in enabling the partnership, noting that this marks the beginning of deeper collaboration. The MoU, he said, will empower Nigerian professionals and institutions to play a more significant role in shaping the future of design, engineering, and infrastructure on both a local and global scale.
