A new Board of Directors was also elected for a full year, with Ali Yassin, Jawad Nakad, Hisham Al-Ashkar, and Marwan Zantout as members.

Mr. Karim Salim Salaam was elected as Chairman and CEO of touch for a one-year term following the company’s Ordinary General Assembly held today, in the presence of Minister of Telecommunications Charles El Hajj. A new Board of Directors was also elected for a full year, with Ali Yassin, Jawad Nakad, Hisham Al-Ashkar, and Marwan Zantout as members.

Minister of Telecommunications Charles Hajj congratulated the new Board of Directors, urging them to “intensify all efforts in the coming period to achieve the core objectives of the Ministry of Telecommunications’ vision. The latter focuses on transforming Lebanon into a leading regional digital hub by accelerating the expansion of broadband services and preparing for 5G technology; generating new sources of revenue, largely based on digital technology; increasing profits through sustainable business models; and enhancing the quality of telecommunications and data services to meet subscribers’ expectations.”

Furthermore, Minister Hajj instructed the new board of directors to “proceed with a plan to improve network coverage in areas where there is a growing need to ensure better customer’s quality of experience, and to prepare for the upcoming holiday season with the expected influx of expatriates and visitors to Lebanon.”
