He highlighted that a strong digital foundation would enhance transparency, efficiency, and innovation within both government and the private sector, contributing to a more connected and competitive Africa.

He stated that technology remains central to improving access to information and ensuring inclusive participation in regional development efforts.
SMART Zambia Institute National Coordinator Percy Chinyama highlighted the need to expand the continent’s digital infrastructure. He emphasized that scaling up digital capacity is key to unlocking new economic opportunities, improving service delivery, and ensuring Africa’s active participation in the global digital economy.
The Digital Government Africa Summit, which runs from October 7 to 9, 2025, brings together government officials, technology experts, and development partners from across the continent. The event aims to define strategies for building a strong digital ecosystem, fostering innovation, and strengthening policy frameworks to accelerate Africa’s digital transformation.
