Qatar Opens Public Consultation on ICT Market Dominance Review
The review forms a central component of the country’s efforts to strengthen its ICT competition framework and ensure a fair, innovative, and dynamic digital ecosystem.
Qatar’s Communications Regulatory Authority (CRA) has launched a new public consultation inviting stakeholders to provide input on the latest phase of the Market Definition and Dominance Designation (MDDD) Review. The review forms a central component of the country’s efforts to strengthen its ICT competition framework and ensure a fair, innovative, and dynamic digital ecosystem.
The consultation covers proposed updates to the MDDD methodology as well as revisions to the list of candidate and relevant markets under assessment. These updates are aimed at ensuring that Qatar’s regulatory environment keeps pace with evolving market dynamics, emerging technologies, and increasing digital convergence.
Stakeholders across the ICT and digital sectors are encouraged to examine the consultation document and share their views. The CRA has set December 7, 2025 as the deadline for submitting feedback.
According to the regulator, broad participation will help shape a more competitive marketplace that supports innovation, consumer protection, and sustainable sector growth.
