Ooredoo Algeria and ZTE Launch Landmark 5G Commercial Service in Algiers

Ooredoo Algeria (OA),  in collaboration with ZTE,  has officially launched 5G commercial services in Algiers, marking a significant milestone for the telecommunications sector in North Africa. The launch represents a major step forward in Algeria’s digital transformation, with the new network expected to drive both economic growth and social development.

During the flagship event, OA showcased the capabilities of 5G through live speed tests, demonstrating dramatically faster download speeds and ultra-low latency compared with existing networks. The tests highlighted the potential for enhanced user experiences, improved digital services, and the foundation for next-generation applications across various sectors.

The rollout of 5G services was made possible through the deep collaboration between Ooredoo Algeria and ZTE, its long-term strategic technology partner. ZTE provided comprehensive technical support and ensured network reliability during the launch, reflecting the strength of the partnership and their shared commitment to advancing Algeria’s digital economy.
