PPPC and MACRA Join Forces to Expand Malawi’s Digital Infrastructure with 98 New Communication Towers

The Public Private Partnership Commission (PPPC), led by Chief Executive Officer Mr. Patrick Kabambe, recently held a courtesy meeting with the Malawi Communications Regulatory Authority (MACRA) to discuss initiatives aimed at expanding the country’s digital ecosystem.
During the meeting, Mr. Kabambe emphasized the Commission’s ongoing efforts to support communication infrastructure development across Malawi. He revealed plans for the joint rollout of 98 communication towers nationwide, a project expected to enhance both the quality and coverage of telecom services.
MACRA Acting Director General, Mr. Mayamiko Nkoloma, commended PPPC for its critical role in laying the foundation for a resilient communication network, highlighting collaboration between the two institutions as key to realizing Malawi’s digital ambitions.
The session concluded with a mutual commitment to continue fostering a vibrant, inclusive, and sustainable digital ecosystem, leveraging public-private partnerships to drive connectivity and technological growth throughout Malawi.
