Senegal Launches Online Platform to Combat Cybercrime Against Children

On Thursday, February 12, 2026, the Divisional Commissioner of Police Moustapha Diouf, Deputy Director of the Judicial Police, officially launched a new platform for reporting cybercriminal activities in Senegal. The platform, accessible here,  was initiated by the Special Division to Combat Cybercrime for the Protection of Children Online, with support from UNICEF.

The platform aims to strengthen the technical and operational capabilities of the Special Division to Combat Cybercrime (DSC) by enhancing prevention, detection, investigation, reporting, and response to online violations affecting children.

The launch ceremony, held at the Directorate of Training (formerly the National Police School), brought together representatives from cyber security organizations and child protection agencies, including UNICEF, the Child Protection Support Cell (CAPE), Children’s Village SOS, the General Directorate of the Prisons Administration, the General Directorate of Customs, the Center for Studies of Information and Communication Sciences and Techniques (CESTI), the Ministry of Telecommunications and Digital Communications, and EXPRESSO Sénégal.

During the event, Commissioner of Police Pope Mamadou Djidiack Faye, Chief of the Special Division to Combat Cybercrime, presented the platform in detail. Participants praised the initiative, highlighting its potential to improve the reporting and management of cybercrime cases involving children.

Authorities urged the public to make use of the platform, emphasizing that the police remain committed to protecting citizens online. “To serve is our vocation; Protect is our mission; In honor of serving the law,” the Police stated.
