MTN Digital Infrastructure Appoints Ronsley Kubie to Lead Satellite Business

Ronsley brings extensive experience across the telecommunications value chain, including satellite, wireless, enterprise connectivity, and national-scale network infrastructure, with exposure spanning Africa and international markets.

MTN Digital Infrastructure, the parent company of Bayobab,  has announced the appointment of Ronsley Kubie as General Manager: Satellite Business and Partnerships, effective 1 July 2026.

Ronsley brings extensive experience across the telecommunications value chain, including satellite, wireless, enterprise connectivity, and national-scale network infrastructure, with exposure spanning Africa and international markets. He most recently served as Africa Head of Sales at AXESS Networks / Hispasat, where he led regional commercial strategy and drove the adoption of multi-orbit satellite solutions across key sectors including ISPs, mobile network operators, mining, and enterprise customers. Prior to this, Ronsley spent eight years at Intelsat, rising to Senior Sales Director for Africa, where he led key operator relationships, building on earlier roles across Vodacom, Verizon, Sentech, and Stratosat, with his career foundation at Telkom South Africa.

Ronsley holds a BCom in Informatics from UNISA, a Programme in Engineering Management from the University of Pretoria, and a National Diploma in Electronics Engineering from Central Johannesburg College.
