The collaboration is expected to open additional income-generating opportunities while supporting business growth and the adoption of digital and financial services within the sector.

MTN South Africa  has partnered with the South African National Taxi Council (SANTACO)  Western Cape and MTN MoMo  to expand digital and financial inclusion across the minibus taxi industry.

Under the partnership, SANTACO Western Cape will serve as an MTN enterprise content partner, business prepaid partner and MoMo agent, creating opportunities for taxi operators, drivers, rank vendors and surrounding communities to participate in the digital economy.

The collaboration is expected to open additional income-generating opportunities while supporting business growth and the adoption of digital and financial services within the sector.

Through the initiative, MTN aims to extend the benefits of connectivity beyond communication by making digital services more accessible to people and businesses connected to the minibus taxi industry.

The partnership also reflects efforts to use telecommunications and mobile money services to promote financial inclusion and economic empowerment among communities that rely on the transport sector.
