Orange Group plans to expand its footprint in more African countries

According to Les Echos business newspaper, Orange’s Chief Executive Stephane Richard believes it would benefit from having a wider footprint in Africa and will decide entering more African markets will be the right move.

It could make sense to be in economies such as Nigeria and South Africa. If one considers there are things to do, the time frame I am considering is rather a few months than a few years.

Being currently active in 18 countries, Africa and the Middle East is the fastest growing market for Orange. Both regions have a strong focus on financial services as digital payments and money transfer are important to telcos.
