Author: Editorial Team

In a recent announcement, Refilwe Nkabinde has been appointed as the new Finance Director of Vodacom South Africa. With her position becoming effective from 1 November 2021.

Since joining Vodacom in 2018 as Managing Executive: CBU Finance Business Partner, Refilwe has played a valuable role in supporting decision-making, contributing to the delivery of a solid financial performance for the financial year 2020/2021.

Refilwe is a chartered accountant with more than 19 years’ financial leadership experience across a range of industries and has served as a non-executive director for both listed and unlisted entities. She was also one of the Top 5 finalists in the ICT sector for the 2017 Standard Bank Rising star award, which recognises inspirational individuals under 40.

“With such strong credentials and a passion for the technology industry, I have every confidence that Refilwe will be a fantastic asset in her new position and look forward to working more closely with her. Refilwe is taking over the reins from Sitho Mdlalose, who continues on his Vodacom leadership journey as Managing Director of Vodacom Tanzania.”

Balesh Sharma, Managing Director, Vodacom South Africa

With Refilwe’s appointment, Vodacom South Africa Exco’s representation is 50% female – an achievement that is testament to the success of Vodacom’s internal Women In Leadership programme and its commitment to gender equality at senior leadership level.
