Enza and Wema Bank Partner to Boost E-commerce Payment Solutions in Africa

A strategic partnership has been forged between Enza, a prominent African fintech company, and Nigeria’s Wema Bank, with the goal of bolstering e-commerce payment acceptance in Africa.

Under this collaboration, Enza will leverage its payment management solution to enhance Wema Bank’s capabilities in processing e-commerce payments. The alliance aims to provide a range of advantages to Wema Bank customers, granting them access to an extended suite of payment processing features, thereby expanding the array of payment choices available.

Both companies highlight that this collaboration aligns perfectly with Wema’s digital transformation roadmap, contributing to the advancement of payment innovation within Nigeria, a crucial market in the African fintech landscape.

Enza’s CEO, Hany Fekry, emphasizes their mission to streamline payments across the region, ensuring seamless and secure transactions throughout the Middle East and Africa. This collaboration with a Nigerian bank signifies a significant step toward achieving this overarching objective, accelerating their progress.

Tunde Mabawonku, Executive Director of Retail and Digital Business at Wema Bank, affirms that this innovation will empower the bank’s clients with a broader array of payment options. The streamlined payment processes are expected to facilitate prompt transaction completion, enhancing the overall customer experience.

Damola Bolodeoku, Divisional Head of Payment Business at Wema Bank, expressed the bank’s eagerness to expand online payment capabilities and create greater value for customers across all channels through this fruitful collaboration.
