Gamberini isn’t the only senior figure at MTN who left the MTN this year. In April 2023, Megan Nicholas, the former Managing Director of Supersonic, also departed MTN without any formal communication from the company, according to published reports.
Following Gamberini’s exit, the role of MTN SA’s CTIO has been bifurcated into two distinct positions.
We are thrilled to welcome Rami Farah, a seasoned MTN professional, to South Africa as our new Chief Technology Officer.
Rami, who has been with the Group since 2001, has held the CTO role across various regions, including MTN Liberia, MTN Rwanda, MTN Uganda, and most recently MTN Iran, where he oversaw the management of over 16,000 sites.
