The Nigerian Ministry of Communications, Innovation, and Digital Economy has initiated the National Broadband Alliance for Nigeria (NBAN) to boost broadband development nationwide. It was recently announced through a whitepaper published by the Office of the Minister of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy of Nigeria.

The Ministry of Communications, Innovation, and Digital Economy has introduced the National Broadband Alliance for Nigeria (NBAN) in response to challenges hindering nationwide fiber network consumption and ROI.

This multi-stakeholder collaboration aims to overcome obstacles in achieving universal broadband access. Challenges such as terrain variations, construction, permit issues, and market viability will be addressed.

The alliance brings together public and private sector stakeholders to develop sustainable business models, focusing on key public institutions for widespread internet adoption. The effort seeks to position Nigeria at the forefront of the global digital landscape.
