ICASA Announces Public Hearings on Telecommunication Regulations

April 12, 2024
1 min read
Author: Aayushya Ranjan

The Independent Communications Authority of South Africa (ICASA) has announced it will conduct public hearings on the draft Numbering Plan Fourth Amendment Regulations, 2016. The hearings are scheduled for Wednesday, 17 April 2024, following the regulations’ publication in Government Gazette 49329 on 21 September 2023.

These hearings will allow stakeholders who have previously submitted written comments an opportunity to make oral representations. Although speaking slots are reserved for these stakeholders, ICASA encourages other interested parties and the general public to attend the sessions at the Authority’s Head Office.

The hearings are part of ICASA’s ongoing commitment to transparency and stakeholder engagement in the regulatory process. Members of the public who are interested in the future of telecommunications in South Africa are invited to observe the proceedings.
