Vodacom Tanzania PLC has reportedly finalized the acquisition of Smile Communications, a broadband internet provider, in a significant transaction estimated US$27.4 million. The acquisition involves the purchase of all shares of Smile Communications, amounting to a total of 284,984,314,284 ordinary shares.
This strategic move by Vodacom Tanzania PLC follows an extensive two-year consultation process with industry partners. The acquisition provides Vodacom Tanzania PLC with access to a combination of coverage and capacity bands, essential for enhancing its 4G network service in Tanzania and ensuring top-notch customer service.
