Airtel Africa, on International Girls in ICT Day, reaffirmed its commitment to empowering young women in the sector. Through its Girls in ICT Initiative, named KAZIPOWER, launched in collaboration with SMART Zambia, Cisco, The International Telecommunications Union Digital Transformation Centre Programme, and the National Institute of Public Administration (NIPA) Zambia, Airtel Zambia aims to narrow the gender gap in ICT leadership.

Since its establishment in 2021, KAZIPOWER has provided training to over 150 girls from various schools across the country, equipping them with essential skills in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). This initiative empowers young women to pursue careers in the digital economy.

Airtel Zambia’s efforts underscore its commitment to promoting digital inclusion and education, emphasizing the importance of nurturing young girls in ICT to excel in traditionally male-dominated careers.
