Zambian Government Completes $14 Million Earth Receiving Station Ahead of Satellite Launch

The government of Zambia has reportedly successfully completed the construction of the Earth Receiving Station in Chibombo District, marking a significant milestone in the country’s space program. Minister of Technology and Science, Felix Mutati, reportedly announced that over $14 million USD has been invested in the development of this crucial infrastructure.

Located in the 10 Miles area of Chibombo District, the Earth Receiving Station is set to play a pivotal role in the country’s space exploration efforts, particularly with the impending launch of the nation’s first satellite. This investment underscores the government’s commitment to advancing space technology and enhancing the nation’s capabilities in satellite communications and data reception.

As the country prepares for this landmark event, the completion of the Earth Receiving Station positions it well to support future space missions and technological advancements, boosting its role in the global space arena.
