Econet Wireless Zimbabwe Announces Board Changes, Appoints New Committee Chairs

Econet Wireless Zimbabwe’s Board has announced the resignation of Mr. Martin Edge as Independent Non-Executive Director. Mr. Edge, who had been with the company since June 2013, was instrumental as Chairperson of the Audit Committee and a member of the Board Risk Committee. The Board extends its gratitude for his dedicated service and wishes him well in future endeavors.

In light of Mr. Edge’s departure, Mr. Godfrey Gomwe has been appointed Chairperson of the Audit Committee. With extensive experience as a long-standing member of the Audit Committee, Mr. Gomwe is well-positioned to lead this critical function. Meanwhile, Mr. Mgqibelo Gasela will take over as Chairperson of the Risk Committee, succeeding Mr. Gomwe.

There are no changes to the ESG and Remuneration committees, which continue to be led by Dr. Jacqueline Chimhanzi and Dr. James Myers, respectively.
