IHS Holdings Considers Sale of Rwanda and Zambia Telecom Assets

August 23, 2024

Author: Akim Benamara

IHS Holdings Ltd., a prominent telecom tower operator, is reportedly considering the sale of its businesses in Rwanda and Zambia, as reported by Bloomberg. The New York-listed company aims to assess interest from potential buyers for its operations in these two African countries.

This strategic move comes as part of IHS’s broader financial efforts, with proceeds from the potential sales expected to be used for debt reduction. The decision is still in its exploratory phase, and no further details have been disclosed publicly. IHS Holdings operates a substantial portfolio of telecom infrastructure across Africa, and any sale of its Rwandan and Zambian assets would mark a significant shift in the company’s operations in the region.
