M-PESA in Mozambique has been honored with a Diploma of Merit from the Bank of Mozambique, recognizing Vodacom Moçambique for its successful implementation of the SIMO Rede platform. The award, presented by Dr. Rogerio Zandamela, Governor of the Bank of Mozambique, marked the 13th anniversary of SIMO Rede, the country’s Single National Electronic Payments Network.

M-PESA has played a transformative role in enhancing financial services across Mozambique, contributing significantly to financial inclusion by facilitating secure and affordable transactions for millions of Mozambicans. With M-PESA supporting over $15 billion in annual transactions, the platform remains pivotal in driving the country’s digital financial ecosystem.
