Airtel Africa Launches Philanthropic Arm to Drive Financial, Educational, and Digital Inclusion

Segun Ogunsanya, Chairman of Airtel Africa Foundation, recently announced the launch of the Airtel Africa Foundation, marking the company’s commitment to giving back to communities across the continent. The foundation will focus on key pillars such as financial inclusion, education, environmental protection, and digital inclusion, with the aim of fostering a more prosperous future for Africa.

Ogunsanya expressed his excitement about the initiative, stating that this role allows him to champion Airtel Africa’s dedication to empowering communities. He emphasized the importance of the company’s commitment to Africa, where it derives its social license to operate. The foundation will collaborate with trustees and partners to create lasting impact in the regions Airtel serves, further enhancing the company’s role as a socially responsible business.

As Chairman of the Airtel Africa Foundation, I look forward to working with our trustees and our partners to empower communities across Africa through Financial Inclusion, Education, Environmental Protection and Digital Inclusion. Forging a more prosperous future for Africa is extremely important to me personally – and this role gives me the opportunity to champion Airtel Africa’s commitment to give back to the continent where it derives its social license to operate as a business.
