Author: Joyce Onyeagoro

Zain Bahrain, a leading telecommunications provider, continues to make significant strides towards on demand-driven power-efficient cell capacity through a new radio features trial, which helped to achieve an impressive 35% reduction to its radio site energy consumption. This achievement underscores the telco’s commitment to minimizing emissions while helping to accelerate progress toward meeting the Sustainable Developed Goals (SDGs), which are an integral part of Zain’s corporate strategy.

A key driver behind this success is the trial of Ericsson energy efficient software, which enables real-time assessment and adjusts radio network operations throughout the day, optimizing energy usage during low-traffic hours to further reduce consumption. This initiative enhances the telco’s operational efficiency, creating a more environmentally responsible ecosystem and resilient future for all stakeholders and future generations.

This feature offers a seamless customer experience while at the same time improving sustainability.  Zain Bahrain remains dedicated to providing its customers with the best possible experience. The telco aims to continue innovating through new trials to deliver top-notch services while reducing its environmental impact by integrating innovation and digital transformation with its sustainability objectives.
