Zambian Government Strengthens Development Efforts in Luapula Province Amid Energy and Fuel Challenges
Minister of Technology and Science, Felix Mutati has reassured the people of Luapula province that government is taking decisive steps to alleviate the nationwide load shedding and fuel supply challenges by implementing a range of measures to address these challenges, expressing confidence that these efforts will bring relief to citizens in the short and medium term.
Speaking when he officiated during the 60 years Independence Anniversary in Mansa district today, Hon. Mutati highlighted several positive development that government has initiated in Luapula province which include; distribution of farming inputs for the 2024/2025 farming season that will ensure farmers are prepared early, emergency social cash transfer program which continues to support most vulnerable citizens with over 157, 483 beneficiaries among others.
Mr Mutati also notes that the increased budget allocation to Luapula province is a clear indication of the government’s commitment to drive development in the region.
He states that the allocation of an additional K11.6 million in the 2025 budget is a significant increase and one that will have a tangible impact on the lives of citizens, enabling us to invest in key infrastructure projects, improve healthcare and education services and create new economic opportunities for the people in Luapula province.
