His Excellency, Bola Ahmed Tinubu applauded the Nigeria Customs Service for its achievements in revenue generation, trade facilitation, and security, emphasizing strategic partnerships and institutional reforms for sustainable national growth.

In his opening remarks at the 2024 Comptroller-General of Customs Conference, His Excellency,  President Bola Ahmed Tinubu praised the Nigeria Customs Service for its strides in revenue generation, bolstering Nigeria’s ability to finance essential national projects.

He highlighted the Service’s role in positioning Nigeria as a trade-friendly nation, particularly through export promotion and improved port efficiency, contributing to the country’s higher global ranking in ease of doing business. President Tinubu emphasized that effective trade facilitation can align with stringent regulatory compliance, as demonstrated by the Customs Service’s advancements in border security and anti-smuggling measures. He expressed optimism for future achievements driven by ongoing reforms, aligning public institutions with national priorities.

Reflecting on the conference theme, “NCS Engaging Traditional and New Partners with Purpose,” President Tinubu underscored his administration’s commitment to strategic partnerships for sustainable development. He noted that today’s global economy requires a balance of strengthening established alliances and fostering new ones, guided by shared goals and purpose.
