Airtel Nigeria has teamed up with Google to revolutionize home entertainment across the country by introducing the Airtel Smart Router, a device designed to turn traditional analog televisions into smart TVs. This collaboration aims to bring advanced entertainment experiences to more Nigerian households, offering an innovative solution that combines internet connectivity and streaming capabilities.
The Airtel Smart Router provides dual functionality, delivering Wi-Fi access for up to 10 devices while transforming analog TVs into fully operational smart TVs. Equipped with a custom YouTube app and a dedicated YouTube button on its remote, the router enhances accessibility and convenience for users. Powered by an operating system optimized with YouTube, the device ensures a seamless streaming experience.
Unveiled at a meeting between Airtel and Google teams, the Smart Router retails for just N25,000 and includes 30 days of free unlimited data. It allows users to stream diverse content, from movies and sports to educational tutorials and podcasts, catering to a wide range of preferences.
