Airtel Africa and UNICEF Bring Digital Classrooms to Over 1 Million Students
Airtel Africa and UNICEF connected 1,200 schools to the internet, benefiting 1 million students and training 17,000 teachers in digital education.

The flagship five-year partnership with UNICEF has connected over 1,200 schools to the internet, providing over 1 million learners with access to quality digital education resources and training for more than 17,000 teachers on how to use them effectively.
Group CEO Sunil Taldar recently visited St. Agnes Nursery and Primary School in Lagos, Nigeria, to experience firsthand the impact of the Airtel Africa-UNICEF partnership on students and teachers alike.

Mr. Taldar said after observing teachers and pupils interact with the Nigeria Learning Passport (NLP), which is one of the educational platforms open to schools via the program.
Mr. Taldar was accompanied by key Airtel executives, including Airtel Nigeria CEO Dinesh Balsingh, representatives from UNICEF, the Lagos State Commissioner for Education, and officials from the Lagos State Universal Basic Education Board.
