March 24, 2025

Author: Aayushya Ranjan

Fatimatu Abubakar joined Ghana’s Network of Women in Broadcasting launch, advocating for better pay, leadership roles, and workplace equality in media.

Fatimatu Abubakar, Former Minister, Ministry of Information, Republic of Ghana announced that she joined distinguished women who work in the media space for the inauguration of Network of Women in Broadcasting.
I commend the leaders for mobilizing women in media across Ghana and for establishing such a formidable group which seeks to address challenges women face in the media space.

I encouraged them to work hard at addressing challenges such as poor remuneration, low representation in leadership positions in newsrooms, limited opportunities for advancement, stereotyping and bias, sexism and harassment among others.

– Fatimatu Abubakar, Former Minister, Ministry of Information, Republic of Ghana
