The partnership aims to integrate entertainment and connectivity, allowing customers to access live sports, movies, dramas, and news anytime, anywhere, without requiring satellite dishes or cables.

Ethio Telecom and MultiChoice Africa have announced a strategic partnership to provide Ethiopian consumers with enhanced access to digital entertainment. The collaboration introduces bundled packages combining high-speed fiber broadband and mobile data with DStv entertainment services, offering a seamless and cost-effective solution for modern content consumption.

With Ethiopia’s increasing demand for digital services, the partnership aims to integrate entertainment and connectivity, allowing customers to access live sports, movies, dramas, and news anytime, anywhere, without requiring satellite dishes or cables.

This partnership represents a major step in Ethiopia’s digital transformation journey. By combining our expanding fiber and mobile broadband services with MultiChoice’s diverse entertainment offerings, we are creating a convenient, all-in-one solution for consumers who seek high-quality content and seamless connectivity.

– Frehiwot Tamiru, CEO, Ethio Telecom

The service will be available across a variety of platforms, including smart TVs, non-smart TVs, smartphones, and computers. Customers will also benefit from:

  • Seamless Access & Billing: Subscriptions can be purchased and managed via Ethio Telecom’s telebirr platform.
  • Flexible Viewing Options: Users can stream content on multiple devices at home or on the go.
  • Exclusive Discounts: Mobile data subscribers can enjoy savings of up to 35% on select DStv packages, while fiber broadband bundles offer discounts of up to 26.5%.

This collaboration allows us to reach more Ethiopian consumers with high-quality entertainment content, making it more accessible and affordable. By leveraging Ethio Telecom’s digital infrastructure, we can offer an enhanced viewing experience that aligns with evolving consumer habits.

– Gelila Gebremichael, Managing director, MultiChoice Ethiopia, MultiChoice Africa

Beyond convenience, the service is designed to support Ethiopia’s urban development goals by reducing the reliance on traditional satellite installations. Additionally, Ethio Telecom’s continuous upgrades—from expanding 3G, 4G LTE, and 5G networks to replacing copper lines with fiber (FTTH and FTTR)—have created the necessary foundation for this partnership.

The new entertainment bundles are now available through Ethio Telecom’s digital channels and sales centers. For more information, visit Ethio Telecom or DStv Ethiopia’s official platforms.
