NCC and NEMA are collaborating on a national telecoms response plan to enhance early warning systems and emergency communications in Nigeria.

Dr. Aminu Maida, EVC/CEO of the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) , recently received Zubaida Umar, Director General of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) , at the Commission’s Head Office in Abuja.

During the meeting, both parties explored avenues for collaboration aimed at strengthening the country’s emergency communications infrastructure. Discussions centered on developing a National Emergency Telecommunications Response Plan that will enhance coordination and responsiveness during crises.

The proposed plan is expected to significantly boost Nigeria’s early warning systems, ensuring more effective disaster preparedness and response nationwide.
