AI-Driven Cybersecurity Platform: Simplifying Complexity
Cybervergent is showcasing an AI-driven cybersecurity platform designed to help businesses proactively manage and strengthen their cybersecurity posture from end to end. Omotosho emphasized that their platform simplifies what is often perceived as a complex and manual process. “AI is about automation and efficiency,” Omotosho noted, explaining how AI streamlines operations and delivers faster results in protection. The platform is designed not just for technical experts but also from “a lifestyle point of view”.
The Importance of Cybersecurity in Africa’s Digital Transformation: Protecting Digital Treasures
With mobile connections rapidly expanding across Africa, Omotosho underscored the increasing need for robust cybersecurity strategies. He highlighted that as the market rapidly digitizes across Africa, protecting digital assets becomes paramount. Drawing an analogy to protecting physical treasures, Omotosho urged businesses to replicate security measures in the digital space, safeguarding customer data, transactions, and intellectual property.
Navigating Regulatory Frameworks and Global Standards: A Pan-African Approach
A key differentiator of Cybervergent’s platform is its alignment with both local African regulations and global standards, offering a “pan-African approach”. Omotosho explained,
“We asked ourselves: how can we, as Africans building solutions for Africa, ensure we’re doing it right? That’s where our approach comes in — think local, act global. For us, thinking local means deeply understanding and adapting to local regulations and realities. But we also make sure our solutions align with global standards. Whether it’s from a regulatory or cybersecurity perspective, this mindset shapes everything — from how we build our platform to how we position it on the global stage.”
– Adetokunbo Omotosho, CEO, Cybervergent
This “think local, act global” philosophy ensures that businesses can easily adapt to local requirements while maintaining international cybersecurity best practices. For example, a business in Ghana signing up to the Ghana privacy standard will automatically be matched up to any privacy standard globally.
Addressing the Biggest Threats: Beyond Technical Challenges
Omotosho identified a range of threats, extending beyond purely technical challenges. While he acknowledged the persistent risk of data theft, he also highlighted non-technical threats such as talent drain and the lack of standardized frameworks in some countries. Cybervergent aims to address these challenges by providing a flexible framework that can be adapted to different national contexts.
Product Guidance, Not Just Consultancy: Empowering Self-Sufficiency
Cybervergent distinguishes itself by offering product guidance rather than traditional consultancy services. This approach involves guiding clients on how to use the platform to align with both local and global standards. While the platform is designed to be self-sufficient, Cybervergent also provides a support team to assist clients through the process. Omotosho noted that “people want to speak to somebody,” highlighting the importance of human support in navigating complex cybersecurity landscapes, even with an AI-driven platform.
