Cameroon Strengthens Cybersecurity Through International Collaboration and Capacity Building
Cameroon partners with FIRST to train IT security teams, boost cyber defense skills, and strengthen infrastructure resilience against digital threats.
In response to rising digital threats targeting critical infrastructure, Cameroon’s National Agency for Information and Communication Technologies (ANTIC) has launched a five-day cybersecurity workshop in partnership with the Forum of Incident Response and Security Teams (FIRST). Held in Yaoundé, the event brings together IT security administrators from both the public and private sectors.
The workshop focuses on cyber threat intelligence and crisis communication, aiming to enhance participants’ technical skills, promote cross-sector cooperation, and improve response strategies to cyber incidents.
Speaking at the opening, ANTIC Director General Professor Ebot Ebot Enaw emphasized the importance of global collaboration in tackling cybercrime. He highlighted Cameroon’s bid to join FIRST as a strategic move to align with international standards and strengthen national cybersecurity through initiatives like FIRST’s A4 program, which offers vital risk reporting and crisis support.
The event marks a key step in building a resilient cyber defense framework for Cameroon amid growing global digital threats.
