MTN MoMo and Onafriq Partner to Enable International Remittances to South Sudan
The partnership offers a secure, convenient solution for diaspora communities to send money home and supports MTN Group’s broader efforts to expand its mobile wallet services.

MTN South Sudan’s mobile money service (MoMo) has partnered with pan-African payments provider Onafriq to introduce inbound international remittance services. The collaboration allows users in South Sudan to receive funds from 15 countries, including the UAE, Uganda, Kenya, the United States, and Australia.
The partnership offers a secure, convenient solution for diaspora communities to send money home and supports MTN Group’s broader efforts to expand its mobile wallet services. Recently, MTN launched 25 new wallet corridors in 10 additional countries as part of its international remittance strategy.
This initiative is aligned with the company’s commitment to promoting financial inclusion, empowering individuals—especially those without access to traditional banking services—with digital financial tools. Through this partnership, MTN MoMo continues to strengthen its role in enhancing access to formal financial services across Africa.
